In culture after culture, people believe that the soul lives on after death, that rituals can change the physical world and divine the truth, and that illness and misfortune are caused and alleviated by spirits, ghosts, saints ... and gods.

Our Plans for 2009

Hey there everyone!

I just wanted to post some information on the sites we here at Prairie Specters are working on visiting this year. Plan is we are going to be visiting some northern Saskatchewan and Alberta locations so here's hoping things work out.

Fort Battleford
Saskatchewan Hospital
The Crooked Trees

Fort Saskatchewan

A return trip to Weyburn and Fort San.

P.S. Be on the look out for Ghosts of Saskatchewan 3 in your local bookstore. Your favorite blog Prairie Specters will be one of groups featured in this new book. Thanks.

all i have to say is - best of luck with Weyburn & Fort San this year
Enjoy the crooked trees, if you have not been there they are interesting but there are alot more interesting things in that area if you know where to look

Hey thanks for the comments. We were in Weyburn last fall but wanted to cover a couple more locations this year and maybe Fort San will work out for us this year.

I would love if you could share with us some of the other interesting things in the area. Thanks!

Considering you didn't get permission to get into Weyburn last year, I'm curious how you got in. Along with the San well best of luck to you. your going to need it if you try to get in.

As for sharing, I go with the "you come along you find out" sort of thing.

Sorry, we did have permission and were accompanied by two officals from the City of Weyburn. But thanks for the concern.

With all of the locations on Prairie Specters that we visit first thing we do is contact the owners of the property. And only after getting permission do we proceed.

As a photographer and a history buff I have tried numerous times to get permission to access Weyburn and got nowhere I have a hard time believing that they gave permission to the ghost busters.

Again, thank you for your concerns "Anonymous".

I guess we just got lucky then. I understand we were the last public visitors allowed access before they closed it up for demo.
Some sections were really in quite good condition but remainder were very poor. I can understand why they could not save the building. From what I understand alot of the exterior material is to be recycled thou.

apparently blogger hates me, anyways, just curious what month you guys went in last year?

As of August / September even the city police were not allowed to enter the building and I know that for a fact. We were there and the cops wouldn't come get us. Even though there was more than one door wide open at that time. When i do the math we were in there just a couple days before you and the cops knew we were there cause we got ratted out by some high school kids but they would not come in. Cops not allowed but city officials are more than happy to take you guys - i doubt it. Just fess up already.

Hey there Arilem. We were there the last bit of Sept last fall.

"Anonymous" I'm not sure where your coming from but this is a public site with both mine and my Wife's full names on it. We have nothing to hide and have no reason to lie about the who's and when's we were there. I'm sorry but I'm done talking about this with you.
